Modern Design in Richmond

It used to be in Richmond that you could not sell a contemporary house. It was really stigmatized property back in the eighties and nineties. But since the early 2000's, contemporary design has been getting more and more popular here in Richmond.

The mid-century designs are wildly sought after and more contemporary, new builds are continuing to grow in popularity. I have been seeing people take homes that are very traditional and "mod them up" with new light fixtures, etc... not really a complete style change, but just using details that reflect the times we live in, not reflect a different period of time that was more traditional.

So at least right now, in 2024 going into 2025 (and probably continuing to move forward in the future), modern design in Richmond is in high demand.
