House Not Selling?

What if your house is not selling? How do you figure it out? In this market, that's a question that I don't get asked as often as I would years ago. But if a house is not selling in this market, it generally means one thing... it probably means it's overpriced. Houses need to be compellingly priced so that people will see value and make an offer.

Now, the next pieces of the puzzle are show-ability, repairs, if a house needs work and it's obvious, ie. when you walk in the basement and you see water running across the floor because of a drain line leak, that is something that should be taken care of before showings start. Things need to be uncluttered, they need to function, and all of these things add to why somebody would not buy your house if they saw these things going on.

A REALTOR® should tell you what you need to do to get your house ready for sale. Of course that's subjective depending on the REALTOR® you call. But standards have changed, buyers have changed, presenting things so that it appeals to today's buyer is the most important thing you can do to get your house sold quickly and for the most money.
